On the Road Again in the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 Convertible on Epic Drives

What better way to experience the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500′s intoxicating exhaust note than hitting the open road in the convertible version? Technical director Frank Markus did just that on the latest episode of Epic Drives, driving the drop-top Mustang across the Mohawk Trail.

Markus’ drive with his 662-hp mount starts out in Lowell, Massachusetts at the house Jack Kerouac once called his home. Then Markus hops in the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 convertible to hit Massachusetts Highway 2 – more commonly known as the Mohawk Trail. Markus’ goal is to follow the old Native American warpath and retrace a young revolutionary’s journey against the British – the journey of Benedict Arnold. Markus follows the infamous traitor’s trail, enjoying the drop-top Shelby GT500 (and quite a few burnouts) along the way. Ultimately Markus’ journey comes to an end at historic Fort Ticonderoga.

Check out the latest episode of Epic Drives for yourself below, and don’t miss Markus’ accompanying feature on the journey right here.
