New York 2013: Shelby Raptor Debuts With 575-HP V-8, Custom Graphics

As we suspected when Shelby hinted its next vehicle won’t be Mustang-based, the tuning firm has unveiled a Shelby version of the 2013 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor at the New York auto show. The Shelby Raptor boasts unique graphics and a supercharged engine, and joins the Shelby Focus ST and 1200-hp Shelby 1000 S/C on stage in the big apple.

A 2.9-liter supercharger is used to raise power of the stock SVT Raptor’s 6.2-liter V-8 from 411 hp to 575 hp. A Shelby Borla exhaust system contributes slightly to those gains, while the stock six-speed automatic sends power to all four wheels. Those wheels are shod in 35-inch Goodrich All-Terrain tires, and an optional custom wheel design is also available. To help the Shelby Raptor stand out from lesser, non-supercharged models, three graphics packages will be offered.

The Shelby Raptor package starts at $17,995 and excludes the cost of the base truck. Each model year, Shelby will build 100 specialty Raptors. Collectors will be glad to know all Raptors come with a documented Shelby CSM number plaque that’s entered into the official Shelby Registry. Orders for the limited-production supercharged truck are being taken now.
