The battle of the full-size pickup trucks is getting hotter. The newly unveiled 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra join the 2013 Ram 1500 (our 2013 Truck of the Year) and the Ford F-150 (our 2012 Truck of the Year) in the full-size truck heap. Two of Japan’s biggest automakers also have entrants in the full-size pickup segment – Nissan with the Titan and Toyota with its Tundra.
For today’s MT Poll we want to know which truck most entices you – which would you buy? Though we have yet to conduct a full test on the new GM trucks, it’s clear that all six trucks bring something different to the segment. The 2014 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra have modern interiors with claimed best-in-class low cabin noise levels. The 2013 Ram 1500 introduces an eight-speed automatic transmission and load-leveling air-suspension to the segment. The Ford F-150 has the game-changing EcoBoost 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 in its arsenal. While both the Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan are significantly older than their Detroit Three rivals, the Tundra has towed a Space Shuttle (that’s worth something, right?), and, well, the Nissan Titan can probably be purchased for a good price.
