Go Behind the Scenes of Our 2013 Truck of the Year Program on Latest WOT

Ever wonder how we pick the winner for our Truck of the Year award? On this week’s episode of Wide Open Throttle, host Jessi Lang tags along with the rest of the Motor Trend team to see just how we determine which truck is worthy of being called the 2013 Motor Trend Truck of the Year.

Lang starts out by explaining the criteria for our Truck of the Year award, and talks a bit about the truck market and lengthened product lifecycles that have become the norm for new trucks in the United States. Next we get a look at the three contenders for the Golden Calipers this year, the 2013 Ford F-150 Limited, the 2013 Nissan NV Passenger Van, and the 2013 Ram 1500, before we get a glimpse at the on- and off-road driving, towing, and instrumented testing procedures.

Check out the latest episode of Wide Open Throttle below and then click here (spoiler alert) to find out why we named the 2013 Ram 1500 our 2013 Truck of the Year.
